All About Birds: An excellent website by Cornell University

Birds are among my favourite things in the world. They are flying and melodic dinosaurs. I’m lucky enough to have a wide variety of them, but I don’t always know what to feed them, what kind of house to build, and so on. Cornell University provides an excellent guide to identifying birds, and provides a lot of detail on their habits.

Very recommended if you want to know what particular chirper is sitting at your window sill.

  1. Tarnished says:

Do you have any bird companions?
I share my home with a green parakeet (Timothy), a lutino parakeet (Aiden), a cinnamon-pied cockatiel (Harvey). Oh, and a slightly spastic long haired guinea pig (Hippie). I used to have a grey pearl cockatiel (Xavier), but unfortunately he died from a brain aneurysm last year. :(

I’ve found that both birds and rodents make wonderful companions to live with. Rats and cockatiels happen to be my personal favorites, but just about anyone would be a good friend.
