The comment I left: If women’s rights are human rights, so then, must be men’s rights. While the UN and its constituent countries have numerous programs that address women’s issues though a wide variety of program, and even ministries, few to none address the specific needs of men. The term gender equality must finally mean equality of opportunities, protection and treatment for all, or it means nothing at all.

Petition to the United Nations for Commissions on Men’s Rights

Petition to the United Nations

Commission on Human Rights

New York, N.Y.

The undersigned Men and Women respectfully submit this Petition to the United Nations for resolution, and creation, of bureaus within the United Nations, securing and promoting equal gender rights for men, boys and those persons possessing or claiming male sexual identity.

Preamble:

Whereas, the United Nations has, since its inception, passed numerous resolutions to protect the rights of women, based solely upon their
sexual identity, and

Whereas, the United Nations has not, since its inception, ever passed any resolutions to protect the rights of men or boys, the absence of such resolutions severely prejudicing the United Nations mission(s) on world-wide gender equality, and

Whereas, men and boys across the globe have been, and, have become, victims of oppression, in every nation, based solely upon their gender, and, systemically denied:

  • Equal rights to protection of laws;

    institutions, the military, and, in the institutions of the general public;

  • Rights to participate in decisions regarding the procreation of children (including the right to DNA paternity testing at the time of birth), the right during gestation to disavow parental responsibilities if the conception of a child occurred without the father’s express consent, the best interests of children, the genital mutilation of male or female progeny, and the protection of their children from abusive persons in the child’s life;

Petition:

Now, therefore, the Petitioners request that the United Nations, to further global gender equality, protect Human Rights specific to those persons claiming a Male gender equality, provide for the future of Boys and Men, and in furtherance of global peace, equality and prosperity, resolve as follows:

  • That the United Nations resolve to form a Commission on Men’s and Boys’ Rights and provide for funding and programs in support of the Commission that equal the United Nations Commissions for Women;

Petitioners Have No Other Available Remedy

According to Resolution 1 (XXIV) of the Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities, exhaustion of domestic remedies is not required “if it appears that such remedies would be ineffective or unreasonably prolonged.”

In this case, no effective domestic remedies are available to the Petitioners. The governments of the United States, and member nations, have made every effort to thwart Petitioners’ attempts to obtain justice, including threatening witnesses, denying equal funding to Men’s programs, facilitating interpersonal violence against Men and Boys, and have failed to respond to Petitioners’ repeated attempts to discuss their demands. Additional attempts would only put the lives of all those involved at risk. The Petitioners have no other recourse but the United Nations Commission on Human Rights.

CONCLUSION:

The undersigned Men and Women, along with billions of other men, women and boys, have been the victims of gross violations of international law. In order to vindicate their rights, to uphold respect for international law, and to deter future human rights abuses, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights should consider this Petition, and undertake a thorough investigation of widespread misandry and violations of the rights of men and boys.

Respectfully submitted,
