Women’s power in the past

I’ve just discovered Lindy Beige, a channel that focuses on a lot the mundane moments of ancient life. These two episodes discuss women’s power in the past. I agree with much of it and find many bits very interesting.

  1. Matthew Chiglinsky says:

Women have no real power, unless a “man” is whipped. All a man has to do to seize power from a woman is beat her and rape her. She’s toast.

And the only thing stopping him from doing this is her father and brothers, who are also males. See “The Godfather” as an example, how Sonny protected his sister from her abusive husband. Once again, the source of all power in nature is the male.

You really don’t have much respect for women, or have much experience with them, do you?

All a man has to do to seize power from a woman is beat her and rape her. She’s toast.

And you know this by experience?

And the only thing stopping him from doing this is her father and brothers, who are also males.

I think you may have overlooked some things, like decency, morality, compassion, or empathy.

Once again, the source of all power in nature is the male.

Oh goodness but this is silly.
